NPC Sprint Paddling Development Program

No experience required
Ages 13-18

Do you like being on the water? Does paddling some of the fastest kayaks and canoes on the planet interest you?

Do you want to increase your paddle sport skills? Do you want to take a road trip to the BC Summer Games?

Come join our Sprint Team! Join us Tues/Thurs after school and/or on Saturday mornings. We will get you out on the water, building paddling skills in an environment that promotes having fun and staying safe. The team will use kayaks, canoes, and SUPs, with a mix of dry land and on water activities.

NPC SCHOOL OUTREACH PROGRAMS 2022

No experience required
Ages: 8-18 years old

The Nelson Paddling Club will be offering afternoon school outreach sessions at Lakeside Park. Participants will be able to try their hand at paddling kayaks or stand-up-paddleboards (SUP) on Kootenay Lake. More ambitious participants can try staying upright in a racing kayak or see how fast they can paddle on a SUP! Participants will be guided by our enthusiastic Nelson Paddling Club coaching team.

Change in clothes, towel (and a snack) are required. Sessions will not proceed if there are weather warnings, i.e. lightning.

Fees $25 per participant

Registrations Teachers can contact NPC Head Coach, Andrea Howland at nelsonpaddlingclub@gmail.com to sign up their class for the program. Parents can contact their local school to see if their school is participating in the program.

NPC WEEKLY PADDLING CAMPS 2022

No experience required
Ages: 8-13 years old

Come out and join our fun-filled kids paddling programming during the summer! Learn some essential paddling skills, make new friends, and try out kayaks and stand-up-paddleboards.

Weekly sessions start June 27 and run into August.
Hours are 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Friday. (Except June 27, August 2 weeks which are 4 days)
