About
The Nelson Paddling Club (NPC) was founded in 1991. The Club was incorporated as a society in 2002. Through the years the club has offered various paddling programs and ways of getting out on the water under paddle power. The mandate of the NPC is to promote safe paddlesport in and around Lakeside Park in Nelson, build the Youth Sprint Program and other skill-oriented programs, and introduce paddling to as many people as possible.
Safety
Safety is a high priority for the NPC. We have updated our Safety Management Plan to control hazards and pull together links to many resources that promote safety on and off the water. Included are cold water protocols for spring and fall paddling as well. Our Safety Officer and Board member, Marc Deschenes, collaborates with the Senior Coaches on safety issues and he also reports issues to the NPC Board

If you have your own boat and would like to store it in our clubhouse at Lakeside Park for your personal use contact npcexecutive@gmail.com for more information. Please be aware that we have a waitlist at this time.
