NPC Paddle-a-thon and Open House, a great success

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered and supported our open house and paddle-a-thon on June 1st.  The day started off at 9am with the sprint team starting their 3 hour long paddle-a-thon. The goal of the paddle-a-thon was for the senior sprint team to challenge themselves to paddle as KM as possible in the three hour period. They asked the community to sponsor them as a fundraiser for the club. Our top distance paddler was Quinn Currie with 15 KM and our top fundraiser was Zoe Taylor with $210. In total the athletes raised $798 plus an additional $100 through a bake sale. With the support of Columbia Basin Trust, the club raised $2400. Congratulations team! A big thank you to Marc Deschenes for running the safety boat for the event, John Boulanger and Cathy Potkins for running the information kiosk, Della Fenkner and Barb Wallace for running the Bake Sale, Matt Nuttall for running the paddle board instruction and Brooke Campbell for being our event photographer!
